In this episode of “It’s All Greek To Me” we meet Koula who was raised by her mother Koni, and father Kim, on the island of Imbros without power and running water.   She and her family grew their own food and relied on hard work and ingenuity to get them through.   She tells us about how they left the island and moved to a new life in Australia which proved to be a big culture shock, and how life on Imbros still guides her through her life today. Mother Koni shares some Greek family favourites with the show’s host George and together they cook a delicious kolokithopita.
